Ugh, I am so bad at this!

It is more than obvious that I cannot manage to update my blog regularly. Maybe I need to write a reminder on my hand in permanent ink! Ah well, anyway, let's see if I can at least get caught up.
The past few weeks brought with them back-to-back hurricane evacuations. The first one was a near miss for my neck of the woods, and the second one still has people around here reeling. Hurricane Ike effectively knocked the hell out of everyone from Galveston Island to the Texas-Louisiana border... the whole border. We traveled north to Longview, TX, to stay with in-laws, and Ike followed us right up there. The wind was strong enough to knock the power out up there, but we managed to dodge the tornadoes and flooding. We came home the day after Ike made landfall, to a landscape not unlike the one we found after Rita in 2005. We were very fortunate this time around, only losing a few shingles and our fence now leans north. We were without power for a week; during which, we had to throw out all of the groceries that were in the refrigerator and chest freezer.
Today was the first day of Autumn; aka Autumn Equinox or Mabon (in the northern hemisphere anyway). This is my favorite time of year. I was in a fantastic mood all day, despite having a horrid cold. I went ahead and got out the Halloween/Autumn decorations and began decorating the house. I have decided to start a few projects. I am hoping to begin a BOS that I will scrapbook, and I am working my way through a Goddess "doll" for my bed. It's on hold for a bit though, because I am going to bed soon. I suddenly got a horrid headache and very, VERY nauseated. :(
I will try my best to check back in tomorrow! (let's not hold our breath, huh?)

Things...

A lot has happened since I last blogged... probably the biggest being that I learned to be useful (refer to previous blog). Things are going nicely with Michael and I for now. I decided to homeschool Kobey for at least another year. We were all set to try him out in public school, and then I remembered how nonchalant they were when CJ came home with a black eye, etc. (saying that they couldn't release any information to me and that I should just drop it since the offending child is "troubled") Don't get me started...
So anyway, I am excited about school. Kobey can read on at least a 3rd grade level already (if not higher now!) and can write and do some simple addition and subtraction. He is fun to teach!
I know this post was a letdown, but I have to go cook dinner. I took a recipe for orange glazed chicken wings and used breast tenderloin instead. I'm thinking it will turn out well! It took a shitload of soy sauce though... a cup and a half! That is more than a bottle! So, okay, off for now. I'll let ya know how it turned out!

Life-Altering Stuff Right Here...

Amazing how, just when I am in the midst of reevaluating my life, the universe delivers a nice big punch in the gut. I'll fail miserably at trying to put a humorous spin on this, so let's just spit it out... Michael wants a divorce. Yup, he dropped the D-bomb on me yesterday, after my girlish screams about seeing a bug on the floor apparently triggered the apocalypse. He went into a wild rant about how useless I am, then yelled at me to get a job. I then told him that he could go...umm... fornicate with himself... At which point he got in my face and yelled for me to get out and he wants a divorce.
So, there you have it. I am currently trying to figure out just how I am going to find a job without a vehicle. (he has effectively fucked me over on that account) He also refuses to pay any of my bills from this point forward. So, yeah, I am screwed.
Anyway, kidlet is awake now, so I am gonna go be useless some more.
